Without Fear.

Sunshine breaks through the clouds

after the rain had refreshed and restored

with its patient pitter patter on the window pane.

Fear was vanquished

in just one moment of stillness and calm and quiet contemplation.

We are so small and insignificant compared to nature.

This was written for d”Verse quadrille prompt which this week was the word fear. The photo is my own and it was taken this evening as I made the most of a dry spell. I took it for Ellen and was messaging her in NZ throughout my walk. We have all faced fears and uncertainties this year and the only thing I know is that tomorrow will bring new fears and realities and that we must take solace from the moments that are bigger than our fears.

  1. I remember reading long ago, that the physiological experience of Fear is the same as that of Excitement. It is how we interpret the feeling which makes the difference.

      1. Interesting! Some people believe that these orbs are spirits taking form. Others think it’s a camera illusion. I took a series of photos years ago of a darkening sky. On viewing the next day, one shot had orbs and the next photo a second later of the same spot had none. Very weird!

  2. Nobody scares us better than nature. The thunder and the lightnings, the storms and the snow. Makes us realize we are not ruling this world not rather living on the mercy of it. Your poem reflect it simply and perfectly!
